Google Understands the Power of the Wiki

Posted by admin in December 22nd, 2007

For some time now, critics have complained about wiki sites like the OneEuroWiki, and others that we will not name. Critics claim that they “just don’t get it.” Well we would like to offer reassurance to those who have supported our wiki site because it has come to our attention that we have tapped into a technology that will continue to prosper in the future.

Google recently announced that they are developing their own wiki as a way for writers to publish information. This gives validity to our previous claims, that wiki sites are an excellent medium for website owners and bloggers to publish information. Currently Google’s project is only in the beta stage, as they are planning to develop unique features not found on Wikipedia, such as revenue sharing for advertisements on wiki pages. What’s different from other wiki’s, is that in order to post information on Google’s wiki, you will have to provide personal information that is publicly visible for each post. Authors who desire recognition for their contributions will find this attractive, but some people would like to remain anonymous and avoid being contacted by spammers. Anonymity will not exist on the Google wiki.

In contrast, the OneEuroWiki offers you 100% of the profits from your wiki page advertisements and affiliate links. The only cost is the one-time setup fee of 1 Euro, which is less than 1 and a half dollars. You control the content of your wiki page without disclosing any of your personal information into the public arena. We value our customers and do not think their personal information should be available to the public, unless the owner decides to publish it.

If you are still having second thoughts about buying your own wiki page, then maybe you should enroll in Business 101 at your local university. Google has jumped onto the so called “wiki bandwagon,” so we wonder how long it is going to take you to understand the power of the wiki.
